At Noble Futures we are excited to announce that we are now recruiting for a Director of Commercialisation for an exciting Veterinary Diagnostic Start Up business. With the first product going to market later this year. You will play a very important part in their go to market over the coming years. This position involves creating and implementing strategy, managing a team of individuals as the business grows across multiple markets. Partnering with other veterinary product manufacturers for collaboration opportunities. You will get involved in Marketing and play a role in raising the profile of the business. A very strong Animal Health awareness is needed for this role as you will be playing an active role in establishing development contracts with partnering organisations whereby you will assess and present development opportunities to the board. The first product that will hit the market is for Ruminant however the business is open to commercial opportunities for other species where it is found that there is a significant added value. 

Location: Flexibility between remote working and being able to attend our site in Scotland

The role

Your will be responsible for the sales and commercial strategy of the business and your core duties will include:

  • Creating and implementing the commercial strategy for the business
  • Identifying leads for development contracts and to support the commercial team
  • Developing and maintaining customer (and prospective customer) relationships
  • Ensuring the commercial team achieve all sales targets
  • Building and continuously enhancing the customer support model
  • Providing market feedback on our customer challenges supporting our product pipeline and strategy, and ensuring that feedback is utilised to the benefit of the business
  • Liaise with key opinion leaders in relevant sectors to gain industry insights and leverage support
  • Update and maintain the CRM system to ensure transparency across the business
  • Working closely with the executive team to shape the future of the company
  • Coaching the commercial team to enhance their own skills and provide development opportunities
  • Responsibility for the business revenue projections
  • Procure clinical samples required by the R&D team

You will report into, and work closely with, the CEO. Thanks to our multidisciplinary team and the diverse set of challenges you will encounter, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in a range of areas outside of your core role such as collaboration with external partners, exposure to operational matters, contributing to grant applications and project management. Guidance, support, and the opportunity to develop your skills will be available.

Candidate experience

You must meet the following requirements:

  • Extensive animal health sector experience
  • Demonstratable sales experience including identifying leads
  • Demonstratable experience of achieving targets
  • Experience in developing commercial strategy
  • Highly motivated and with commercial acumen
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate complex scientific messages to customers in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to travel within the UK and internationally (in accordance with COVID-19 government guidelines)
  • Valid driving licence
  • Ability to work autonomously within a sales environment

The following would be desirable:

  • Veterinary degree
  • Sales experience in the veterinary diagnostics sector and/or international distribution.
  • Experience and understanding of international regulatory requirements for veterinary diagnostics
  • A strong network of contacts within the veterinary diagnostic and animal health sector
