Warehouse Manager
Mathers Dairy Utensils have been the main dealer for DeLaval in Cumbria for 25 years. Established in 1922, this family-owned business spans over four generations, proudly serving as one of the UK’s longest-standing DeLaval dealers. Role Description
Mathers Dairy Utensils is looking to appoint an ambitious Warehouse manager based out of the Dumfries warehouse. The Warehouse Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of our Dumfries warehouse. This includes implementing and managing a new stock system, ensuring critical stock is always available, and coordinating the efficient unpacking and organisation of orders. The successful candidate will lead a small team, maintain a tidy and safe working environment, and work closely with both customers and engineers to ensure smooth order fulfilment and timely parts delivery.
Key responsibilities:
● Implement and Manage Stock System: Oversee the implementation and ongoing management of a new stock system in the Dumfries warehouse, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
● Stock Control: Maintain accurate stock levels, ensuring that critical stock is always available and properly managed to meet operational needs.
● Order Creation: Generate and process orders in line with warehouse and customer requirements.
● Unpacking and Stock Organisation: Oversee the unpacking of orders and the efficient shelving of items, ensuring stock is stored appropriately for easy access and retrieval.
● Team Management: Lead and manage a team of 2 warehouse staff, ensuring effective task delegation and performance monitoring.
● Warehouse Tidiness: Ensure the store and warehouse are kept tidy, organised, and in compliance with health and safety standards.
● Customer Coordination: Liaise with customers regarding their orders, providing updates and resolving any order-related issues promptly.
● Engineer Coordination: Work closely with engineers to track parts used for jobs, ensuring timely orders and that parts are booked out accurately.
● Van Sales Preparation: Organise the van sales picking list for the following day, ensuring that all items required for deliveries are prepared and ready.
Required qualifications and skills
● Previous warehouse or stores experience ● Line management experience ● Highly organised and detail orientated, with a structured approach to managing
workload ● Excellent people and communication skills ● Proven ability to build strong relationships/partnerships ● Good Administrative, Numerical and IT skills ● Understanding of the dairy farming industry, beneficially but not necessary
Location
The role will be based full time out of our Dumfries warehouse.
