Veterinary Business Development Manager - North East
We are currently seeking a business development manager to join an industry leading business embarking on their next growth phase. This role will cover the North East of England up through Scotland as far as Edinburgh. This is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic and well-led sales team in further establishing the brand's services within veterinary practices.
This role is an exciting mixture of new business development and account management. This is an opportunity to Work within a team with excellent culture, and for a manager that has a genuine focus on people development. Taking time to create a quality sales funnel and developing genuine buyer interest through use of "the challenger" approach will be the focus of this role. Previous experience selling into veterinary practices is required.
This is a field based role. 2 days a week WFH (Monday & Friday) and 3 days a week on the road.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and executing the appropriate volume of calls to decision makers within practices to get booked meetings for the week. Utilising own initiative, the CRM system, and liaising with the team lead generator.
- Build and maintain a new business pipeline
- Attend booked meetings with practice decision makers. Using the "challenger" approach to provide insights and provide solutions.
- Maintain close contact with decision makers through the entire process from introduction to contract signing and launch period.
- Account managing existing relationships. Focusing on new service opportunities by working in conjunction with the practice coaching team to identify need.
- Winning new business through conversions from competitors. Any experience of converting practices from competitor products or services would be a big desirable in this role.
- Maintaining good rapport with decision makers in customer practices to defend against competitor offerings.
- Managing key accounts at Director/Partner level. Through business review meetings. Identifying needs and presenting new service solutions.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience selling into veterinary practices (required)
- A self-starter who is comfortable working on own initiative.
- Experience of selling complex ticket items would be attractive.
- Successful track record of converting practices from competitor offerings would be attractive.
- Based in a location that makes commuting around the North-East of England and into Scotland possible is essential.
