Agricultural Engineer

Field-Based - County Laois

Are you an experienced engineer with a passion for agri-tech and a strong technical skill set? Our exclusive client, a well-established and trusted provider of on-farm automation equipment, is seeking an Agricultural Engineer to cover County Laois. This is an exciting opportunity to work with both conventional and robotic machinery in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

The Role

As an Agricultural Engineer, you'll be on the road supporting a variety of Farming clients by installing, servicing and troubleshooting high-tech agricultural equipment. You'll respond to breakdowns and be part of the non-call rota, ensuring farmers receive fast and effective support when it matters most. You'll take ownership of your day-to-day schedule, managing your own workload while remaining closely connected to a wider support team. This role requires not just technical know-how, but the ability to build strong customer relationships and a real understanding of the pressures farmers face in keeping their operations running smoothly.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a trade background - preferably in electrical or mechanical engineering
• Is confident working independently on the road and managing their own diary
• Has excellent technical, mechanical and fault-finding skills
• Communicates effectively and builds rapport with customers
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and can work well and pressure
• Understands the fast-paced nature and time pressures of the farming industry
• Brings a positive, team-oriented attitude and takes pride in high-quality workmanship
• Has an interest in agriculture - direct experience is a bonus but not essential
